One great trainer I had had three simple rules for avoiding self-defense encounters:
1. Stay away from stupid people.
2. Stay away from stupid places.
3. Stay away from stupid things.
Avoiding drug deals, mardi gras, and bars goes a long way. A dear hunting buddy from the midwest tells a story about a shotgun slug and a water bed that further recommends staying away from other men's wives ...
I think the stats bear out the idea that somebody being in the wrong bed accounts for a good fraction of lethal force encounters.
Didn't **** Armey say, ""If I were in the President's place I would not have gotten a chance to resign. I would be lying in a pool of my own blood, hearing Mrs. Armey standing over me saying, 'How do I reload this damn thing?'"
