And as far as Texas goes, over half of the Top 50 largest Largemouth Bass caught in the state have been on Lake Fork, which is stocked with Florida Strain Largemouth Bass. You are going to get bigger fish when you have Florida Strain running through there, and you have a small enough population that the forage will allow larger fish.

If you aren't taking enough fish out, you aren't going to get big fish. Simple as that. If you have 100 fish sharing a limited resource, you are going to get smaller fish than if 50 fish are sharing the same amount of resources.
