The pre-marital and pre-divorce counseling are required even in the case of adultery. Word is that many courts are also honoring the longer time limits prescribed in the law in hopes of giving the counseling a time to have its effect, even if there are claims of adultery. In other words, they don't really give a hearing to the claims of adultery. They say, "Go get your marriage counseling and come beck in two years if it doesn't work out."

I would bet that by a time some fellow is crashing on his third marriage, the issue is most likely a deeply ingrained character flaw rather than women being overly tempted to bail out because the courts are going to treat her favorably. After all, already paying on two failed marriages, how much blood does the turnip have left? I don't think there's much society or divorce policy can do to slow down serial divorcers.
