Angler I agree with what you are saying. My whole thing is the fact is it worth more paying 2.5-3K for the 200 HPDI over the 150 4 stoke. For example, I have a chevy with the 4.8 liter engine and I have a friend that has the 5.3 or how many 24" fiberglass bay boats do you see with 225HP when rated for 300HP. Yes if all the same price I would likely go with the 200 HPDI. I have 150 HPDI on my boat niow. However, that 4 stroke 150 is a sweet motor. I am just using this as an example. As I mentioned I went on line to the Yamaha site and it show at 5900 rpm with the 4 stroke 150 I will do 50 where with the same test the HPDI 200 at 5500 (since that is the max RPM for HPDI) was 56mph plus you are using 15% more fuel with the HPDI. Plus I will add a 6" jack plate.
