Default Best Bet

Your best bet is to just wait for next year on the grass and lay down some cover that will keep you from slipping in the mud. Next brush your blind with green pine branches or big leaf oak branches, I mean an ugly amount! More than you are comfortable with. The green pine branches will last and will eventually turn brown.

I know it sounds crazy but it works. Ducks do not shy away from big brush piles just faces and heads of people. Make sure to cover the entire opening of your blind so that you have to cut your way out to shoot. I have personally smoked the ducks out of big overly brushed blinds that are brushed this way on Catahoula Lake, Honey brake Lodge, and other private spots around Louisiana. Trust me, this will work...if you can convince your buddies to let you do it!

Just remember, that's how the Robertsons do it and I don't think they are new at this duck hunting thing.
