I would recommend taking some of that dirt away from the blind to make the "island" smaller. You can then plant rice right up to the blind. After the first harvest, break the stubble down over the edges of the blind. I have killed a lot of ducks out of island blinds like this but the island was smaller. I've also killed a lot of ducks at Catahoula Lake with green pine brush on a stick up blind or on a floating blind. Looks like a big pine tree in the middle of an ocean, but the ducks will decoy. They don't like it when it turns brown for some reason. If you use pine, make sure to get the cut ends in the water so they stay green longer. My 2 cents. Good luck!
