I have a Kenner 18' tunnel hull 115 Mercury CMC Hyd jackplate with a 23 pitch Laser II. Jackplate installed by dealer.
I run mid 40's and its right in the middle of the WOT RPM range.
When I bought the boat it had an 18 pitch prop on it and it would hit the rev limiter at 3/4 throttle. Prop for tubing probably.
I still have to tuck all the way down on hole shot or it will blow out and running the river you trim down on turns. Tunnel hulls are mean little SOB's. Docking one is a pain in the a@@. You have limited reverse because it washes underneath the tunnel. Oh, and it will let you know when you are trimmed up too high running the ship channel in some chop and current because you will feel the a@@ end fishtailing on you. Just trim down a bit.
