FYI, I find a little bigger than needed is easier to throw, I throw an 8' net now, much more success than a 6'.

Also, and this is very important, quality of net matters. $30 8' net, is 100% different than a $100 8' net. I had mine custom made by Tim Wade out of Florida, like night and day. Now, that being said, it has 14# of lead on the bottom of it, and feels like you are throwing a bowling ball, but opens up beautifully almost every time
