I try to keep as many of the 14 inch variety as I can eat. They taste better and you can catch plenty of them to eat. No need to keep the bigger fish. Both people are correct you dont know the genetics of a 14 inch fish. It may be the state record one day or could be a dud. However you do know the genetics of a big fish are good. That's why they are that size. I enjoy catching big fish and want my 2 yr old son to catch bigger fish than I ever have so I throw the larger ones back.
