Since it was a Saturday I knew we'd have to make an early dash for the trout pile. We loaded up with live minnows, flicked on the Southern Lite LED, and pointed the Blue Wave southbound. Hit the slick calm Gulf and the cool Louisiana morning hoping to massacre the trout. Things started off pretty slow even with the shrimp jumping and birds diving. All we could catch was white trout on artificial. About 7:30 I decided to try a minnow on the bottom and immediately caught a 22" trout. After that I switched everyone over to minnows and that was all she wrote. When the smoke cleared we had 100 speckled trout and 25 white trout melting ice at 9:00. Thanks to Capt. Andre Trahan for running the second boat catching 83 fat specks. Good times for all!
