The answer is yes, you can have both in the live well. A few days ago, I had about 15 mullet and about 10 shad, along with 3 flounder and a small redfish. Several of the shad died, but they may have been caught in the net and injured.

My livewell does not get good water "out-flow" so I can't circulate a lot of water, which would help keep more alive.
