As if you're a trespasser for launching in LA, catching a keeper there, then fishing a main river cut on the TX side, and getting checked. All of a sudden you're breaking the law?
The very fact that there are two separate size limits proves that no one in the offices of the Wildlife/ Fisheries Dept.'s in either state has a clue in what they're doing.
Am I off base here?
I'm all about following size limit/ creel limit rules; no problem there.
But, I like fishing the LA side AND the TX side just as well.
For the Sabine River, a 10" all-around limit would make more sense. Wherever you are: 10".
I prefer to throw the bigger bass back, myself.
I released a 4.25 lb'er a few weeks ago. Felt good.
As it stands now, I almost have to keep that fish if I want to have fish for dinner.
Kinda messed up.
The Sabine River is teeming with smaller fish that are more suitable for keeping to eat.
