Is is misleading and manipulative to suggest that every trout not caught in December will spawn the following spring and summer.
I'd have to look at their numbers more carefully to be sure, but odds are that most of the eggs are laid by the older females. Protecting the 20+" fish all year would likely do more to enhance reproduction than a three month closure on all the fish, which likely protects mostly the smaller fish.

Bruh you are preaching to the choir. I am not agreeing with anything they are doing. Just pointing out to W in response to his statement about them not spawning during those months. It doesn't matter when you close the season (spawning time or dead of winter) it makes no difference because that fish will never spawn
