Decided to go with what I know. Hit the water out a calcasieu point a little after 7am. There were probably 5 other trailers in the parking lot. Seems I wasn't the only one willing to roll the dice.

Passed up 2-3 boats fishing the north part of turner's. A few small flocks of birds here and there. Headed into the marsh to try my luck with some reds.

Beat the banks for an hour or so with only one small flounder in the box for my efforts. Decided to head back out into the lake and head south a bit.

The wind picked up around 9. Found a few decent sized flocks barely feeding in the winds around mid lake. Managed to pick up a few keeper specs and some dinks between the whitecaps. Was hard work as it felt like 10 minutes of positioning the boat for every 5 minutes of fishing.

Headed to the weirs to try to avoid the wind for a bit. Picked up a few rat reds. Knowing the wind was going to get worse later in the day, I headed back north to protected water.

Fished the old ship channel and LNG for a bit. Landed one puppy drum.

Off the water at 2:30 with one flounder and two specs in the box. When I left there was still probably less than a dozen trailers in the lot and nobody bank fishing.

I've done worse. 😀
