It's been another great week of trout fishing despite fighting storms everyday. I helped Capt T Miller with the Doggett crew, they had a great day busting big trout two at a time. Robert Laville and crew were back again and had another incredible trip busting the Specks, great time. Gaiennie Lumber was back with another crew and the bite was insane. 350 fish hit the deck between the three boats. Hunter Cartwright and family were back down at the lodge for two days with two boats and they hammered the Specks both days. Danny Lirette and family were back again and they crushed the Specks before 8 am. Danny is a fish magnet, always a good trip when he joins me!! James Wheeler was back for their two day annual trip. We fought the weather the last two days finding a slow bite but managed six gallons of fillets in the two days. All the daily storms are killing us, we just cancelled our clients today. All of the trout the last week have been caught on double rigged Matrix Shad, no live bait harmed. Slow retrieve drifting in the current has worked best for us. All colors have produced but the Holy Joely has been the top producer for about four weeks now.
