Moral of the story here is that I have shot it so much it wiggled enough and I never knew it to be loose and it stripped out. But I got a new one now. Going to see about getting it fixed later. Wow. I've never heard of that happening. I over tightened mine once and broke the plastic insert. At least it was a cheap fix. There is a torque value on that nut, and I followed it, but it's way too high.
