Where do you guys think the WL&F should spend our tax money?
On erosion?
Re building marshes?
Fish Studies?
New Reefs to protect from storms?
as stated above...
Louisiana's coast is basically 95% marshes (not exact, im not a google pro.) The coast aka marshes are eroding, and only way to fix that would be to "re build the marshes". In a early thread, we said pumping sediment back into the marshes, will basically "re-build them." Bosshog mentioned that the sediment pumped in the marsh is going to basically be a big mud flat. IDK how many plants would be able to grow on that Mud flat (yak-em could tell ya) but from what i've learned from my classes, sooner plants grow the better the soil will stay in-tact. Making it not erode as fast.
SOO basically, unless you want your home/camp on Biglake being apart of the gulf of mehico, they need to spend the money on restoring marshes, not only by pumping sediment back, but also replanting. Thankfully I don't pay taxes yet
I think all that makes sense...??
