[MEM1971]

left cal point at 6am. decided to go south. fished around washout first and all dinks and lady fish. fished mouth of west cove and all lady fish. fish mouth of oyster bayou from west cove and nothing. no tide. went down by pogie plants and fished all my spots on west bank of channel and only 4-5 little rat reds. finally I went over to the east bank across from pogie plants and started catching a few trout. first trout didn't hit box til 11am! then the thunderstorms started. idk why they wouldn't bite when raining???? picked up a couple here and there in between storms and around 1230 saw a break in the weather on radar. storms on both sides of channel and some up north coming down so I high tailed it back to the point. only had 8 trout and gave them to some guys that were already cleaning fish so I could put boat on trailer and get home before weather caught me again. soon as I got in truck to leave it was coming down again and all the way home. my worst trip in several years but not from lack of trying, lol. last year I fished 3 sometimes 4 days a week and was able to stay on them. I wished id just stayed north and my next trip will be! til today it was two weeks since I been on the water and enjoyed just being out there. this time last year I started fishin evenings til middle of September and did really well so I may do that some more. good luck all!!
