Default Suppressors While Hunting

From http://www.wideopenspaces.com/louisi...ssors-hunting/

Attention Louisiana hunters: you may soon be able to use suppressors while hunting for game animals.
On Wednesday, the Louisiana Senate passed House Bill 186 to allow hunters to use legally-owned suppressors while hunting game, according to Ammoland.com.
The bill is now on its way to Gov. Bobby Jindal, who is expected to sign the bill.
The news comes on the heels of Alabama’s recent decision to allow hunters to use suppressors. Several other US states have legalized suppressors on hunting rifles.
Advocates of suppressors say the devices can help hunters prevent hearing damage caused by loud gun blasts. Contrary to popular belief, suppressors don’t silence the sound of a weapon, they only dampen it. When they’re used on large caliber rifles, the noise from the blast is still quite loud.
Acquiring a legal suppressor can involve several steps, depending on the state’s laws. For example, in Alabama, gun owners must find a gun dealer with specialized firearms licenses, pass law enforcement background checks – in some instances that involves taking fingerprints – and pay transfer taxes.
Louisiana currently allows hunters to use suppressors while hunting for non-game pest animals.
