Killed my 2nd deer yesterday
She walked out RIGHT after I peed out of the stand and made a crap ton of noise while I did it. 7mm Rem Mag did the job at 40 yards. She ran 50 yards into some thick stuff and it was a effort to get her out and into the gator. Gonna get my wife into the same stand later this evening and see if she can't kill her first deer there. Gonna grind up the meat for sausage and burgers and use some backstrap for a steak.
She hit the scale at about 110lbs. She had a young one somewhere as she had some milk in her. But the little one will be alright if it gets picked up by another doe.
Gonna see if the wife can kill herself a buck today so she can have some sort of bragging rights.
This was in Mississippi. Gonna be home Friday and see if I can't do some duck hunting while I'm down. Heading back to reality (Virginia and Navy) on wednesday EARLY. Hope to get at least 2 more while we're here.
