Default Grand Isle Offshore 6/5 -6/7

Hit the Gulf Thursday, Friday, and Saturday.

Thursday was calm but the current was ripping rediculously hard which made tieing up, getting bait down, and chumming difficult. Went to a set of rigs 29 miles out of Bridgeside marina at a bearing of 150 deg. in ~200' of water. Water was green. Caught our 3 man limit of 18-22" Red Snapper but that was it.

Friday was by far best day for conditions and catch. Went to the next rig which we fished at last year 41 miles out at at bearing of 150 deg. in ~250' of water. When we got to the rig the grass mats from the rip were AT the rig. Tied on and caught our Four man limit of nice red snapper along with a mangrove and a scamp grouper. The rip was moving out and was 3 miles South so we went out and trolled along the rip with not luck. Then we started throwing gold spoons and catching chicken dolphin. It was every cast for a while so we caught 14 then went back to trolling. No luck again. Only spent about 2 hours at the rip but wish we would have stayed there all day.

Friday conditions were a little rough for the 19' bateau so we went to a group of rigs we had succes at last year during fall snapper season which is more to the East but only 22 miles from Marina. These rigs were in ~175' of water. Cauht our 4 man limit of red snapper which were a little smaller than the previous days.

FishMaster 911 tagged and released 21 Red Snapper. Looking forward to a recapture! Last year he tagged an AJ that was caught again 4 days later.

There are so many of those endangered Red Snapper that we had trouble catching anything else. It is really rediculous!
