Might be a relay sticking causing a ozone like smell. Turn thermostat down til compressor shuts down, wait 5 minutes, turn t-stat back up and listen for
the compressor to start. It should start up smooth and easy, if it tries to start
then shuts down and tries to start you start relay is going bad. Easy to repair.
