Default 2017 Faux Pas Rodeo - Striker Offshore Tackle

Mr. Bill, owner of the "Looking Sharp" invited some of SOT's crew on his boat for the 2017 Faux Pas Rodeo. Left Thursday afternoon and made it back Saturday at noon. Ended up with 3 yellowfin in the 60 - 80 lb range. 3 dolphin btw. 15 - 20 lbs and more blackfin than I can remember most averaging 15-25 lbs. Lost 2 big yellows on our new Southern Sunrise poppers, one to a pull hook and the other too a bad braid/flouro splice after a 2 hour fight at midnight. Not my gear!! Blackfin were also loving that popper.

Will say that the new Turkey Slider Jigs out fished even the flat fall jigs at night. I believe the combination of our oversized eyes and the glow in the dark did the trick. I ran the same jig the entire trip 170 gram chartuesse/glow, we put an extra coat of poly on this set with a full sheave cover on the assist line, they are holding up better than any other jig your gonna find.

Will be on the "Looking Sharp" next year again!!
