I've seen a few others chime in about the F-150... bought one in February with the max tow package (13,200 lbs) and have to say I've been impressed with it. I've only towed my bay boat so far but found that it tows it much better than my previous truck (2013 5.3L GMC).
P.S. - I'd been a chevy/gmc guy all my life until February when I switched it up and got the new F150 3.5L ecoboost. Never thought I'd own a Ford but have been very impressed! If you decide to go with a 1/2 ton i'd take a look at them
