This is Paul Pettefer. My brother and I built these with our dad in the 80's and 90's, and we're building them again.

I saw your questions, so I'll take a shot at some responses. Some of the lighter boats we built 10 years ago had trouble if you pounded them hard in Big Lake. Some of the boats were built with a foam that degraded when gasoline got on it and would hold some water (as memory serves, I'll need to ask Bill to confirm). The foam we use now is closed-cell and Coast Guard approved, so it doesn't hold water.
