Default Grand Isle Offshore - 6/1 and 6/2

Just got home from our yearly offshore trip to chase the endangered Red Snapper in the deep water of the Gulf of Mexico.

Monday, 6/1, we cleared the pass around 6:15 a.m. and headed Southeast at a bearing of 150 degrees. NOAA was right and we were able to cruise at 28 mph in the 1' seas. Pulled up at a rig that we have had success at in past years 37 miles from Bridgeside Marina in approximately 200' of water.

Caught our red snapper that average 8-10 lbs. Caught 3 ling that were all between 34" and 40".

Also, FishMaster911 caught a stud blackfin tuna that we guessed weighed between 25-30 lbs. Catching a blackfin tuna while dropping down for snapper was a nice surprise.

Around noon decided to go check the next rig 5 miles South and added another ling and a few mangrove to the box. 1 of the mangrove weighed in at 9.9 lbs.

We left them biting when both our 120 and 90 quart ice chests were full of fish. We need a bigger fish box!
