Safety. Safety. Safety. People who frequent gun clubs are around guns a lot and see all kinds of unsafe acts. Leave the guns in the truck and take time to walk around. Speak to the range manager/owner. They will usually go out with you and show you what to do and what's expected.
It does not take much to get comfortable at a gun club. I shoot sporting clays a lot and most shooters are the nicest people to be around.
And make sure your guns are in proper working order before going.
Overall you will have a wonderful experience.
