Default Rough day

Last night One Eye Ed called and asked me to deck for him. He was running a 33 Freeman. This boat is the best of the cats available to us now. We never attempted to troll for wahoo because a front was comming in and it would get rough in the afternoon. At 45 mph we got out there quickly. as soon as we set up the winds started picking up. By noon it was rough.

The tuna fish were not feeding well. The sharks were keeping us busy. Just before noon we found some bonito and a few tuna followed suit. By this time things were getting worse.

We had some 6-8 seas and at one time we got hit broadside by a wave that crested on the side of the boat. Everybody on that side got soaked and it splashed spray over the T-top. If I was in my Glaicer Bay I would have been heading in about that time or maybe sooner. We fished it as long as we could and made a full day out of it.

The fishing was as rough as the seas. 2 yellows and 5 1/2 blacks in the boat today. Plans are to go inshore tomorrow.

Life is Good!
Fishing is not a matter of life or death. It's more important than that.
