1- Get a metal drain stop, remove the rubber gaskets, line it with aluminum foil and stick it in the hole
2- Get a small piece of tin, call your plimber buddy over and have him and solder it to the sink
3- Get a cover built at your local sheet metal shop
I like the sink Idea, you could get some grates and cook over the coals like that.
