if you go to grand chenier lemme know i'll send you some info, it's about a 7 mile run from grand chenier park to the jettys, pretty safe except for a couple mud flats in the channel (run it the first time in the daylight and watch for the stakes), then another 30 miles to south oil city, another 10 miles to calcasieu rocks and steep rock (snapper/grouper holes), you then run into AJs and a lot more ling, and a lot better water at 50-60 miles in 272, 280 east cam blocks. you start seeing flying fish around that area usually.

They have some good rigs in vermillion blocks if you head southeast towards candy mountain, the little satellite platforms are the best for ling, even a big sunken jack up rig out there where we caught a sailfish on a whole pogie. you can see it laying on the bottom when the water is blue.
