Took off work early Wednesday around 11:00 and fished with my brother in law on the Calcasieu River south of the west fork. We caught a bunch of rat red and a few keepers. The water was clear and pretty brackish. There were a lot of crabs swimming also. Caught everything on either crankbaits or mojo shrimp. It started to getting dark and thundering in the afternoon so we decided to head in before getting wet. All in all, it was a pretty fun trip, especially since it only takes a few minutes to get there for us.
