Default Venice offshore

Headed down river today to find calm seas and pretty water, freakin Mississippi river is GREEN!!! First off those running SW pass be careful there is a log sticking in the bottom with only 8-12" exposed about 1/2 way between Joseph's bayou n the end of the pass, it would ruin your day to hit this monster . Started the day in about 100' of water catching mangroves and ended up in 250-275' of water catching red snapper, mangroves, a few cobia just shy of the legal size, saw some donkey AJ's come up when we were chumming but didn't catchem. Boat next to us at last rig was catching some big blackfin tuna , we hooked up twice but didn't get em to the boat . We are really getting into this Offshore fishing and learning more and more as we go . It's a nice change from trout fishing but I am still partial to watching a trout get stupid with a TW bait!! Maybe I need to catch some tuna on TW!!!!!
