Default Adak Island Caribou

My first taste of hunting in Alaska was on Adak Island last week. It was a lot of hiking, horrible weather, and great hunting! Ended up with 7 caribou between 5 hunters.

This is a lot different than the hunting I am used to from down South. Had some late nights on the trail packing out meat, getting turned around in the dark, and back tracking up and down ridges. Averaged 10-12 miles of hiking a day.

No big bulls but a great meat haul. Each of us came home with 85 lbs of de-boned meat.

What a strange place Adak is.
