At low tide or if the wind is out of the north, going through the cut from H. I. G. it is very shallow going out into the lake for a 100 yards or so.
I would recommend going over to the ship channel.
OR.... you could go a little farther south on Hwy 27 to the next boat launch. This launch will put you going in to the western part of West Cove.
