I'm familiar with the Upper Houma, Dularge & Dulac areas but never fished Montegut, Cocodrie or the Bay. Just got my first Bay Boat and will like to know if is safe to ride Bayou Terrebonne all the way down to Terrebone Bay. Thanks for the info!!!

Anything other than a dead low winter tide and you should be fine.

I went that way about a month ago and I notice it is getting silted up toward the end of the bayou and is shallow right before you get to Seabreeze Pass. I came off step to mess with something in the boat and I had to idle trimmed up a ways to get to deeper water to take off. But if your running the whole way its no problem at all.

Thanks for the replies, I keep my boat around Montegut and I rather go down the Bayou than driving all the way to Cocodrie to launch. Thanks again!!!

Agree, shallow toward the end, stay on step and should be fine. GL out there!

Is it safe to cut to the left towards Lake Barre instead of going through Seabreeze Pass?

I take the last cut to the left and do fine... there is a land net there... turn in that cut though... it'll bring you strait out to Barre and the channel.

just before the end of the bayou there is a cut on the left...if you take that you can just go around that last bit and not have to worry about shallow water.
