Ben and Tim Winter and Chip Spurlock were back with me today on the Bluewave. We left out of the Reel Inn after daylight trying to let it warm up a bit!! Our first stop found a slow trout bite. We picked away at the trout under corks in 6 ft depths with the C-Sea shad. With the bite slowing down we made a few moves only to find dirty water. I decided to go check a area I haven't fished in a while and found pretty clean water with a falling tide. Everything was looking good except for the rising barometric pressure. We drifted over a reef in 3-5 ft depths picking up a flounder and a red. The trout bite here was non existent. We moved into a bayou with a good point with moving water. The fresh bait shrimp came out and it was just crazy!! Double and triple hook ups every cast!! I've never had so much fun and laughed so hard loading the boat with bay snapper and pup drum!! Talking amongst the other guides in our crew, I think we set a new record!!!! 71 Bay snapper, Lmao. We always make fun of them and a lot of people don't keep them, because they are hard to clean. In all actuality they taste great. I normally would not keep more than 10. With the new Ridgid Saw Zaw, it's a game changer though as they are simple to clean now. This non stop every cast bite made the trip and my crew had the time of their life catching them. Crazy how a fish we normally make fun of and put down can be a game changer and make the trip of a lifetime!!! Three full gallon bags of bay snapper fillets the guys will be enjoying. It's all good and my crew can't wait to see what tomorrow brings!! Thanks guys for the continued business.
