Default Venice Offshore Action!

[SIZE=3]OPEN BOAT (March 5,14,21,27&28)

I have been on the water a good bit over the last two weeks so I have not been able to post any reports!

Tuna fishing has been pretty slow over the last two weeks but has finally picked up a little. With the tuna in hiding, Capt Gray and I have moved over to grouper, amberjack and brotula fishing. We have had some good trips deep dropping for snowy grouper and the Frenzy Jigs have been good for blackfin, amberjack and beeliners!

We had a group from Denmark that had two boats out and really put a hurting on some grouper and brotula. One of them landed the new #1 state record brotula the first day fishing! We were dropping down in 600 ft of water, talk about a long ways back up!

I got word from one of my guys in Venice that today was an awesome day on the water for the Captains that fished! Word on the street is Capt Peace Marval landed nine wahoo and was back at the dock early!! Great job Peace! I am very jealous!

The tuna that were caught today were nice fish, a few around 200 pounds and a couple over 200 pounds! I had to move my crew for Saturday due to another day of rough seas but I am ready to go for Sunday! This was the best day for Venice fishing in the last two weeks! I cant wait for Sunday!

Amberjack have been a little picky about what they want to eat right now! Seems that jigs and live pogie have been the trick.

We are still using Mann stretch 30's, Bomber cd30's and Braid marauders for our wahoo and we are also picking up a few amberjack on the troll!

We change our hooks out on the bomber and stretch 30's with 4/0 or 5/0 Owner 4X treble hooks, the big wahoo are here now and the factory hooks will straighten out on you!

Be sure to check out our site and blogs for pics and videos!

We look forward to seeing you in Venice and we thank you for keeping us on the water!
