Default Opening Weekend

It's been unusually quiet leading up to opening weekend. How'd everyone do? We finished up opening morning with 17 total. 2 greys, 3 woodies (unusual on our lease), and the rest GWT. I didn't hunt this morning, but the others got 4 woodies. Saturday was fast and furious for about an hour then someone turned the light switch off.

We didn't lay the smack down on em, but it made a damn fine meal.

Was awesome in South East part of state in my neck of marsh. Limits both days with mix of greys and teal with a couple token pins and mottleds.

I live in the lacassine/welsh area. I heard one shot saturday and a distant shot sunday! Other than that nothing! Makes me worry a bit! Usually sounds like a war zone!

I actually prefer a slower hunt as opposed to limiting out in 20 minutes.

Been slow in the mashes in Boston,La very few birds around. Hoping the next front pushes some more ducks down. Hopefully when the other zones open this weekend it will push some more birds into the area.

Same here Dogface. It never made any sense to me that they decide to open the most southern zone first. One good thing is it looks like we going to get some temps back in the 60's and we usually always smash the teal when the south wind blows.

Any idea why the greenwing teal are down and we didn't even see any blue wing?

It's been about even in our marsh but no really big numbers. Now on the other hand the wood ducks are there in huge numbers. Never seen so many in all the years I've hunted that marsh.
