Default A Place to Just Cruise Around?

Want to take the boat out this weekend and just enjoy some time on the water. Our normal cruising place(cane river) is closed because of high water. Anyone know a place that's nice for just spending a day on the water and enjoying the view? I'm in Alexandria but don't mind making a drive. I don't have a huge boat either. 17' express with a 70 on it. Just looking for a place to enjoy a day on the water.

If you have never been to Chico state park..... the lake is full of Cypress [and other] trees with boat lanes to travel in. Might not be an "all day" place to go, but very pretty to ride around for a couple hours.

If you're wanting to tube and swim and stuff, Indian Creek. If you wanna sight see and look at creatures and stuff go to Chicot. They also have some pretty good nature trails if yall see everything on the lake.

chicot is pretty but you'll travel the entire running lane in 10 minutes. You can idle around in the trees, but they'll probably be a bunch of fishing folks who'd rather you not do that lol

If you want to ride around a bunch and have some open water to play in the waves with the boat, I'd suggest Indian Creek. Water is gorgeous, lake is gorgeous, and they have a few decent sandy beaches. People are nicer there too

No problem. I fish these places fairly often, and you don't ever see people joy riding in chicot because there isn't really room in the channel. Indian creek has a huge open area where people like to play around.

Only downfall is fishing is tough in indian creek. Lol
