Default Hunter safety course needed?

My son is a grown man now, and because he never did any hunting, he never took a hunter safety course. Any chance he would need this before he buys his first rifle?

Negative, but it would be very wise for him to do so before buying it, and we all would be grateful for him to take the course or a course of some sort before leaving the house with it.

It depends on what year he was born . He can buy a rifle w/o but like I said depending on date of birth may not be able to hunt alone if he doesn't have hunter safety Id . He can still get hunting license w/0 but needs to be accompanied with someone who is grandfathered in or has their safety card . That mens you can't put him in a stand and go sit in another , you'd have to be with him

Well his plans are to go through the safety course for sure, but wether he can get to it before the 2nd amendment tax free weekend. He just didn't want to find out at the last minute that it was required. Thanks
