Saw on KPLC, the the Police Jury is taking bids on Turners Island.. God forbid "W" or "ASR" buy the Island.. I can see it now, they going to "POST" the whole Lake.......

The way i read the court decision on claiming water . Who ever buys it should be able to claim all waters back to the size of the island in the late 1800s

Yea it was part oof a very large tract of land but; the real question is what will the governing agencies allow the new owner to do? (Can they build bulkhead, bring in shell, ect)

Unfortunately the red tape may be too much bs and this island will just erode away in a few years.

Someone with the right connections and 000000's in bank account can make this island something special.

Turners Island is in the northern part of Big Lake.

The TV report said the island is about 1.5 acres, but use to be as much as 120 acres.

So can the owner claim all the water within 1/4 mile of the island? Could the island owner fill in around the island to "re-claim" the 120 acres?
