Default Boat Launch near Cameron Jetties

Anyone use the boat launch just north of the Cameron jetties recently? I was thinking of trailering down instead making the run from Calcasieu Point but I'd like to be sure it's worth the drive. Any info would be appreciated.

If you're talking about the launch in Cameron where the public boat launch is at the Cameron jetties, I've had no problems.

Has anybody had any luck / problems with an offshore boat at the launch on the east side?

I've launched with my buddy there several times with his 18' bay boat and his new 24' pontoon boat and never had any issues. It's only about 6' deep in that area so if you have a larger vessel you may want to try elsewhere.

Had problems with an offshore boat launching before. Silted in and there was sometimes some junk below the water at the launch. We started launching at the Grand Chenier Park with the offshore rig and heading out from there.

Launch here all the time. Launch was slippery last time and as Meaux stated is shallow in front of launch.

Thanks for the replies! I may try it out. Just launching a 22' bay boat so hopefully it won't be an issue.

Launched a 24 bay boat skeeter many times there. As others mentioned, it sometimes gets shallow right at the launch. Just trim you motor up if coming in or going out at low tide
