That's too fast in my opinion, something. Goes wrong and you're both getting towed or worse.
I tow below 10mph, settle in and take In The sights |

Did you try to hammer down and plain out the boat you were towing; something around 30mph.

I always try and get them on top. If not, then about 3000 rpm and enjoy

If you were towing something like a bateau or something thats relatively light, as long as what you are towing with a heavy enough rope stays in the middle of your wake, you should be fine. As long as they don't dive over your wake it'll be good. First time I got towed, I knocked my 9.9 off the back of the boat and got towed in by a Bullet with a 225 and we planed off and were good as long as i stayed in the middle. Last time I was involved with a tow of a marsh hopping duck boat, the guys (3) all piled in to our boat (17ft express) and as we (dumbass driver) planed out and the duck boat fell over our wake and nose dived into the water losing some shotguns (temporarily... in january). It does take a little more umph to get up but once it gets up as long as it stays in the middle, it'll be good. I have about 30-45 feet of 1" US government approved rope that some smaller boats in the navy use to tie themselves to the pier and that has actually pulled my truck out of a ditch so thats what I'm going to use when I get a boat and have to tow someone in.

This was a 22 ft tournament edition skeeter with a 300 vmax on the back.

With 3 adults and 4 kids in the bass boat. I think he spun a hub. I had to move 1 of the adults and 3 kids to my boat. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N920A using Tapatalk |

Put the passengers in the bass boat in your boat.

I've pulled in a ton of boats. u prettymuch have 3 options...
1. pull them in slow and burn a lot of fuel. 2. leave 1 guy in boat being towed to steer it, and get them up on step to speed up the process. this is the preferred method. if you can pull them in with 2 or 3 boats pulling in a train fashon, that is the easiest way on both your boat and your nerves. 3. tell the dumbazz to keep a spare prop in his boat for times like these and go about your bidness. his unpreparedness is not your concern. if u do decide to help, you don't have to pull them to wherever they want to go, pull them to the nearest safe place or landing. beggers are not choosers!!!!! |

ha
would have been a lot quicker and easier and cheaper on the both of you to tie his boat at the first launch leave a few people with the boat and motor him back to his truck to drive back to pick up his boat
