This is what my place looks like in Maurice on 343 north of Hwy 92.

Have to wear a pair of hip boots to get around the yard this morning.

The water isn't on 343 just in the yards and fields. Be safe heading home.

Just texted with a bud of mine who lives on Optimist Rd off E. Gloria Switch. He said that the river is supposed to come up another two feet which will cause widespread flooding in his neighborhood.

Prayers to all who are suffering from this deluge.

Gunner, he's up on the Northside of Lafayette and he's going by the measurement for Bayou Vermilion at Carencro. I would think by the time it gets down your way where the river is much wider, it won't go up nearly that much, but who knows.

I'm sure there is a benchmark somewhere downriver that you could go by to look at where they are predicting the river to crest.

They launched boats off of Pinhook to rescue people in the hotel by Outback. The river has flooded that whole area.

Over here in the Se the worst seems to be behind us. Tv is saying it flooded where it never did before. Thats bad. Lots of folks have water and it cant be remembered there even in old family stories. Thats real bad. I have family dry but stranded. Hope you ane yours are ok and look our Acadiana More is coming. I woke up with this ole tune in my head.

Same things happen everywhere, they building and building. All them retention ponds got to drain somewhere. That's the problem with turning pastures/ crop land into concrete hey never thank of people down streem

My home town of Colyell near Denham Springs has been hit very hard. Many of my former classmates lost their homes this weekend. It is far worse than 1983 and that was the worst flood ever for that area. I would like to go help sandbag but I can't even get there from Houston right now.
