Default Shotgun sling tapping

Just wondering if anyone has some experience getting a nice laminated stock tapped for a sling around Lafayette.

I was thinking of calling Lafayette Shooters but I'm really not a fan of that place.

It's a Browning Gold so I really don't want to try it myself and screw it up.

Thanks

Default easy

it isn't that hard of a job, you just need to drill, the stud is like a wood screw, no need to tap, i drilled the stock and fore end on my h&r buffalo classic, i know that isn't no comparison to a pretty shotgun, i probably wouldn't have tried to do it for the first time if i had a fancy gun like that, but now that i have done it i know it wouldnt be a problem

being able to do it at work helped

you need to buffer your stock with some rags to keep the vice from scratching it

choose a drill bit the size of screw shank in between the threads

drill slowly only a hair deeper than the screw will go

I wouldn't trust anyone at Lafayette Shooters to do that. They used to outsource their gunsmitthing through a place out of Baton Rouge. They would come in once a week. If they still do that, then it would be ok.
