Heres why I switched to MarshWorks jig heads in the first place.. Before, I was a gamakatsu man. Yes, they are very sharp, do they hold up? No. I've broken countless #'s of them on bigger fish, right at the bend of the shank.

I've yet to break a MarshWorks. Just sayin'.

You are not big enough to break a hook

You don't have the hook set to even break a knot, little one.

I agree with the marshworks redfish jigs, they are awesome I've bought a few packs of them and they held up very good against every fish i've caught on them, I have bought .25 cent jigs at bowie out fitters in baton rouge that weight 3/8oz I bought 40 of them for $10.00 3 years ago and I only have a couple left from bringing my buddies fishing, this fall I'll probably be buying more since I probably won't be going saltwater fishing till I get a new motor.

shaw, if you don't like the ones we have, try the gene larew high tide series.. they have a similar ring-shank design and a sharp, strong hook.

I'm going to bring my meter to work tomorrow.. I'll tell you to the thousandth what they weigh.

I agree that those points are too much trouble.
I take some wire cutters and cut those points off any of the jigheads that I think would tear up a bait leaving just enough to hold the bait on. I bought some of those unpainted Norton's on clearance and cut the points off every one of them. The H&H unpainted jigheads are just about as good as any to use too. They've held up just fine for me for many moons.

Why not cut/trim the metal barbs with some cutting pliers? This will definately save your plastics longer... at least until you get your new lead heads.

Thanks for the kind words - we are running Premium Mustad Ultrapoints on all of our jig heads which are the best you can get without breaking the bank.

The 1/16th and 3/8 shouldn't be far away and then we have some new stuff in the works.
