Default New LNG facility going next to Calc Point

Might be old news for some but I hope they don't block off that whole dead end now.

Maybe not but it's possible they go ahead and make the whole area a marsec security zone.

If you haven't been down Big Lake Rd. in a while they are already widening the road for about the last 1/2 mile before the turn off to Calcasieu Point.

This is probably for the expansion to Trunkline LNG as well as the addition of G2X and Magnolia LNG.

With the global gas glut and record low natural gas prices. I doubt this project will get started anytime soon. There are already many other projects around the world that have been scrapped in the last year. Magnolia is still needing investors and financing in place first.

With a 500' MARSEC zone I don't see it excluding all access to the industrial canal but probably will implement a new 500' MARSEC zone on the south side of the canal leading into the square turn around but no matter we need the jobs in the area that the new facility will bring

Last time I motored into the end of the canal there and was working grassy bank on the right as you come in I was yelled at by a guy on a lownmower. He told me I had to go that the entire area was a marsec zone. I kindly let him know it wasn't and I wasn't tied to anything. He responded with some choice words and let me know it didn't have to be marked as a marsec zone that the entire turn around of was off limits. I wasn't pushing my luck so i just beat feet.

The zone is 500 feet. The main cannel is about 750 feet wide.

So if the new LNG plant property extends down to where the existing plant is located on the north side...... this closes off the cannel for the public to go into the "turn-around" area, once this new plant is built.
