I would like to know how they are also. I have been debating on getting one or two or three (I'm a knife whore) but just can't see were they will do anything the other 50 knives don't already do.

I bought the 9" flex blade for cleaning fish and I hate it. I ended up going and buying a Dexter for half the price and it works much better. I don't see the big deal or why they should cost so much. Maybe mine sucks because it is the thin flex blade but I will never know because I will never spend that much on another one.

Ha I have had them all, and truly was not pleased. I have tried cleaning tuna, wahoo, snapper, ling trout redfish etc all the way down to cutting sac-a -la heads off and it gets dull quick sucks through bone, just not impressed at all. Brand new lasted 2 maybe 3 tuna and thats it. In my opinion Dexter is the best cleaning knife.
I have used those razor edges (hunters edges i think is the actual name) and for cleaning ducks they work great, every 50-60 birds you have to switch the blades out but it isnt bad.

I'm strictly a Dexter man. Tried the Bubba blade a few years back but didn't like it. Would not hold an edge. I have cleaned a mixture of reds, bass and flounder, 23 total without stopping to sharpen my Dexter.

X2 wife bought me one.

I use it when she is looking but drop it and pick up my old rapala filet knife soon as she turns around.

I must have the only good 9" flex that bubba blade made. I use my bubba blade every weekend and have been for 8 months now.

However... I also have a buck fillet knife, which I will say holds a longer edge. With that, I have a habit of running all my blades down a stone after each use. The main reason for this is that I have been working on charter boats and cleaning countless snapper, cobia, reds etc for many years and have yet to own a knife that can last an entire cleaning process of 20 or more fish. My stone is always with in arms reach and I will run the blade down the stone after every 10 or so fish regardless.

I like the bubba blade, and for no apparent reason I use it more so than my buck, but if I had a choice, I would stay with my buck. I have only owned 1 buck and have had it since 1987, and buck is so good about backing their product that when it goes bad (will no longer hold an edge) they replace it no questions asked.

This is the buck I use.

I have the 9 in tapered flex its decent but Dexter is a better knife in my opinion. I use the dexter boning knife on reds to get the fillet of the bone then use the dexter fillet knife to remove fillet off scales. The only thing I like the bubba blade for is larger trout. It doesn't hold an edge well but I wouldn't expect it to really. You either get a blade that holds an edge or one that is easy to sharpen. Not both.

I also have a Kershaw fillet knife that is a decent blade.

Default Bubba frump knife

Don't waste your money. Their knives are crap. You're better off buying a handful of Rapala's

Visco you hit a valid point here. Once you put an edge on any knife, through use that edge degrades. Alot of times the edge gets folded over making it feel dull. To bring it back quickly you can use either a stone or a sharpening steel. A few swipes and you are back in business.

I must have gotten the only other good knife they made. I have the 8 breaking blade. It has served me well cleaning numerous snapper, barracuda, and snook. The blade coating and the grip is what makes the knife in my opinion. I do really like my Dexter knives also. Bottom line I found the Bubba blade to worth it.
