Default Grand Isle/Leeville

A friend and I went down the bayou this weekend.
Hit the back side so the island to get out of the 20mph wind.
Caught a ton of fish but only 35 keepers and 3 reds.
Called it at noon and rested a bit then hit the water at 10 pm and hit some lights near the camp I was staying at in Leeville.
We mashed the 16-18 reds all night and caught close to 20 trout. uploadfromtaptalk1431917852232.jpguploadfromtaptalk1431917863852.jpguploadfromtaptalk1431917884321.jpg

Nice mess, Clampy! What's you're best night bait? Do you find fish just near camps that have a light on the pier? Thanks for any suggestions.

I caught my night specks on the 1.5"beetles double rigged .chartruse or white. If they are popping on shrimp throw a small top water and hang on .

I was fishing on the bayside of the island under some lights. pick up 2 - 3 then wait 20 - 30 min for 2-3 more . Think the trout were making a big circle pushing bait against sea wall.

We were using golden bream colored little Johns on just a J hook with no weight.
And I cast netted a few live shrimp that we free lined on small treble hooks.

I like throwing weightless stuff under the lights.

Thanks clampy. Never used the little johns. Will have to get some. I've seen them at Basspro.

They're great baits. Simple and deadly.
