Default Navarre Fishing

Headed to Navarre beach Florida from July 30-Aug 6. Wanting to bring a few rods and surf gear. Anyone have any suggestions in the area. Don't want to fool with live bait, should I fish the surf in the gulf side or any bays nearby. Probably like to slip out at daylight while the crew is still sleeping and try the early morning bite....Maybe some specs or white trout I'm guessing....Anyone do that while on vacation in Navarre?

Done some fishing on the Beach at Orange Beach, AL. and mostly caught Spainish Mackeral and Lady Fish, a lot of fun while the crew was sleeping in, mostly used an old Mr. Champ. I only stayed on the Gulf side.

Be very carefull what you harvest in FLORIDA. I brought the boat to Destin a month ago and fished Choctowatchee Bay. You are allowed to keep 1 Red 18"-27" not 16", and 5 trout between 15"-20". Trust me i found out the hard way. To top it off i got my live shrimp from a bait shop that was owned by a guy from New Orleans and i asked him what the Regulations were in Florida and he told me the same as Louisiana. Thats what i get for listening to a POT HEAD. The game warden made me gut all the fish and sink them at the dock.

Default Just for fun

Not planning on keeping any of them, just catch and release....Will be at the condo so cleaning and cooking would be a pain...Just want some rod pulling fun....Especially if I can order up some topwater action....That would definately be fun....Is there like a one week fishing license available? is it really expensive? Let me know....That sucks you got hammered by the warden....Kinda dampers things....

Spanish and Bluefish in the surf with a Gotcha' and this time of year a few
Pompano. Along the Causeway on the south side of the Navarre Bridge Reds,
Specs and Flounder on 3.5-4" New Penny Gulps or White Gulps on a .25oz
jig head. Go to either Broxsons Tackle just up Hwy 87 or just east of the bridge on Hwy 98 to Half Hitch B & T. All the shops have the regs or check
www.myfwc.com for the most current regs and limits. Good Luck to you and
glad some of you Guys are staying outside of the Concrete Canyons of
Destin,Gulfshores,Orange Beach.

Cheers Thanks for the feedback

Yeah I'm pretty excited about hitting the surf in the morning and afternoons and hitting the beach just after dark with the metal detector. I have figured out that if I don't need my fish holding float net, I will have room for the small floating ice chest and beer dispensing helmet!
